SAMUEL CAMPBELL was born around 1700 probably near Newark, Essex County New Jersey. he married MARY (some say last name HUNTER). They moved by 1755 to what was then known as the area of Wallkill, Ulster County, New York (now Montgomery, Orange Co., NY). Samuel lived there until he died in 1780.
 Samuel had the following Children:

    5.  Jonathan CAMPBELL b: 1739 in So. Orange,Essex,NY
    6.  Reuben CAMPBELL b: 1743 in So. Orange,Essex,NJ
    7.  Nathan CAMPBELL b: ABT 1745 in So. Orange, Essex, NJ
    8.  Levi CAMPBELL b: 1741/1753 in So. Orange,Essex,NJ
